Installation

Once you have download the QB212.exe setup program, save it to a local directory on your computer and double click it to install it to your computer. Just follow the instructions the way you would normally for the installation of any program for your PC.

Setup

The first time you run the program, you will be prompted to enter the following configuration information:

1. FTP login parameters for your website and the directory path where the orders are stored on the web server.
2. Local directory paths to store the files
3. Information regarding your Quickbooks Item types.

Note: All of these screens can be accessed via the menu at the top of the main screen.

FTP Login Information

The screen below allows you to enter the Host Name, Username, and Password for your server. It also allows you to define the type of files to download, which is "*.xml", and the directory to download them from. This is the orders directory under the cgi-bin where QuikStore is installed on the server.

Local Directory Paths

The next screen allows you to set the paths where the files are downloaded to and stored once they are processed in QuickBooks. You can leave these as is or change them to whatever you like. However, we recommend that you store them on your local hard disk so we can access them quickly.

QuickBooks Configuration

The last configuration option allows you to define the item types and the status of item to be used when creating a QuikStore products.dat database file. It also has an entry for the inventory field used in QuikStore if you are using the inventory control module. See Export to QuikStore for more details.
